Happy Cyber Monday! Since I have the day off, I’m sharing my Top 10 Amazon must haves for your classroom. Better yet… these are on sale for today at great prices – some even better than Prime Day in the summer! As a teacher, Amazon has come to my rescue so many times throughout the year because, let’s face it, sometimes the best lessons come to your mind on a whim. So, thank goodness for 2 day prime shipping!
1. Flair pens
I can’t get enough of all the fun colors! I use these for everything in my room – writing colorful thank you notes to my sweet students, making my teacher (never-ending) to do list, grading papers, etc. When I’m feeling really creative, I even use them to hand letter some seasonal gift tags. These are definitely a must in my classroom! I am stocking up on a few packs for Secret Santa exchanges this year.
2. Bluetooth Microphone
This has been a blessing for helping my students shine on stage
in my classroom! I bought a similar microphone over the summer and use it daily in my room. My students love to get up on our classroom stage and share during morning meeting, star of the week presentations, shared writing or reading time, etc. I am blown away at how it has changed their comfort level speaking in front of their peers, especially for my shy little ones.
3. Cricut Explore Air 2
I guess this isn’t technically a “classroom” item so to speak, but there are just endless design possibilities for bulletin boards, teacher tees, class tee shirts, and so much more. Once you get the hang of it, this can be a great time saver for your classroom.
4. Mr. Sketch Markers
These are perfect for incentives! My kids love getting a different scent on their paper in smelly marker. This large pack is good to stock up since they definitely need those extra incentives during the holidays too.
5. Wiggle Cushions
What a difference flexible seating has made on my classroom environment! I am a huge advocate for little ones being able to self-regulate their wiggles and take a break when needed. These cushions have helped even some of my especially wiggly friends find comfort during whole group time on the carpet fairly discretely. These cushions are on sale for a few more hours, but are usually a decent price!
6. Laminating Pockets
Much like the Cricut, these aren’t technically a classroom item, but definitely a time saver! Anything I create or print for centers, word work, guided math, etc. I always make sure to laminate for durability. That being said, I go through laminating sheets pretty quickly! These are a steal right now so hurry and grab this deal before it’s gone!
7. Sharpies
I use these for everything in my classroom! From anchor charts, positive notes home, or labeling, Sharpies are a must! We even use them to outline our guided drawing projects for holiday artwork.
8. Velcro Dots
I use these for so much in my room, but my favorite use is for my name tags on my desks so my kids can flip them over from the AM class to the PM class. It makes managing two groups of kindergarteners so much easier in between classes! I also use these on my calendar cards to switch out the date cards, days of the week, and weather cards with ease in my calendar area.
9. Chart Markers
These chart markers are my go to for anchor charts! They are the perfect size for neat, bold font and outlines for any pictures that help my littles remember the skill in focus!
10. Jenga Set
The inventor of these little blocks is just pure genius! My students love to play jenga for all kinds of skills, CVC words, rhyming, and math. (Original idea is by Hope King and you can read about it on her blog!) These sets are the perfect size for small groups, stations, or teacher table. Grab a set or two to start out with and then you can slowly add to your collection!
Well, that’s it! I hope some of these ideas can help you in your classroom!
