We are halfway through April and Earth Day is coming in less than a week! Do you know how you’ll be celebrating with your class?
I have some NO PREP ideas to help your class celebrate our planet – and a FREEBIE at the end of this post!
Earth Day Read Alouds
Here are a few of our favorite Earth Day read alouds to share with your class:
If you need any last minute Earth Day books, here’s a list of my favorites you’re sure to LOVE reading to your class! Check them out here!
You can also share The Earth Book by Todd Parr read aloud by yours truly as a guest reader in your class! Just share the video below on your Smartboard with your students.
You can also share this activity below with your class where I show kids step by step how to use phonetic spelling to create their own Earth Day promise to help our planet!
If you’re looking for something NO PREP and simple to pull up and read on your Smartboard about recycling and ways to help the Earth, or ideas for your Earth Day anchor chart, check out my Earth Day Digital and Print pack below!
Earth Day Digital + Print Slides
Just present, print, and go! These Digital Slides provide just right information for your little learners and the printable recording sheets are perfect to take notes, sort recycling items, or cut and sort activities for the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle).
Earth Day Emergent Reader FREEBIE
This emergent reader is the perfect way to practice sight words with your kiddos. Kids cut, unscramble, and glue the sight word to each page. They are a staple at our guided reading centers every week and they love that they can do them independently – it really builds little reader’s confidence!
Happy teaching!
