Description
“
This Valentine’s Day Sight Word Reader is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn to read and spell the color word “r-e-d” in a hands-on way. Each page of the book contains a predictable sentence missing the word “red.” Students will cut apart the letters to spell “r-e-d,” then unscramble and glue the letters into each page to spell the sight word. Each page features pictures to support the text.
Teacher Directions:
1. “Valentines are RED” book and the corresponding scrambled word cutouts for each student.
2. Separate book pages by cutting each 8.5×11” sheet in half.
3. Staple the books together for students.
You can separate “red” cutouts and distribute one word at a time as a whole class activity, or provide students with full sheets of cutouts for a small group activity.
